  • Overview
You can’t get much more suburban than Meadowbrook Park – adjacent to Nall Avenue and an island in the midst of neighborhoods in Prairie Village. Yet nature is still abundant in the 80 acres of this expertly manicured green space. Towering trees are found on the north end. Waterfalls, three ponds and an intersecting stream attract waterfowl and heron. Observers will see moms pushing strollers, joggers, people fishing and others out for a quiet walk. A bonus: In the middle of the park is The Market, which serves cold drinks, coffee and ice cream. Another bonus: The park is home to artist Amie Jacobsen’s renowned Gateway sculpture, a 12-feet-tall work based on a Kansas sunflower.
