Group hikes in Greater Kansas City
Here’s where and how to enjoy nature in the company of others.
Kansas City Hiker receives regular inquiries about group hiking opportunities. Our work, however, is publishing. We don’t lead hikes, but we know people who do! We’re happy to report there are many opportunities. Below is a list of groups that sponsor walks, outdoor education and hikes in Greater Kansas City. It’s by no means comprehensive. If we’ve missed any, please let us know.
Burroughs Audubon Society sponsors walks and educational events.
Johnson County (KS) Park & Recreation District provides outdoor education and family-oriented nature activities.
Lakeside Nature Center, in Kansas City, offers frequent guided walks and educational events.
Missouri Department of Conservation primarily provides educational events, although it occasionally sponsors nature walks. When visiting the events landing page, select the Kansas City Region to filter for local results.
Urban Hikes KC offers guided tours highlighting history, architecture and culture.
