This lonely hike in western Iowa rises up to 400 feet above the Missouri River below, cutting through oak and cedar groves, descending steep ravines and jutting across picturesque prairie. This challenging trail is 8 miles each way, making for a 16-mile crusher. In addition, there are four miles of spurs if you’re seeking greater adventure. For those without the stomach (or legs) for such an adventure, no worries. Hop on Brent’s trail and hop off whenever you like. It's located near Little Sioux, Iowa, which is about three and a-half hours from Downtown Kansas City. Pick a pleasant winter or spring weekend for this adventure.
